Sariska National Park

The Sariska National Park is located in Aravalli Mountain Range near District Alwar in the state of Rajasthan. This is project tiger reserve. This park was declared as a sanctuary in the year 1955. the park came under the Project Tiger in 1979 and became a national park in 1982. The park has the distinction of having quite a few tigers and other interesting flora and fauna. The Sariska park is lined with a few historical ruins and monuments that are the reminder of its glorious past.

The Sariska National Park is known especially for its tigers.The avian population is also rich and the main species that can be easily seen are-Peafowl,Grey Partridge,Bush Quail,sand Grouse Tree Pie, Golden backed Wood Pecker, Crested Serpent Eagle and the Great Indian Horned Owl.

Although the wildlife sanctuary is open throughout the year, the best time is between the months of October and June. Sariska wildlife park is well connected by rail, road and airways.
